Renew Europe at EYE2025 | EMPOWERING YOUTH
MEDIA LITERACY, FACT-CHECKING AND DIGITAL DEMOCRACY

In an era of online manipulation and misinformation, media literacy remains more crucial than ever.
During this open conversation, you will be empowered with all the necessary tools to distinguish between real and fake information on social media and online platforms. In the light of the Democracy Shield, the Media Freedom Act and the Digital Services Act, we will explore challenges such as propaganda, fact-checking and the role of major online actors, including foreign interference. We will also address the impact of hate speech and toxic masculinity on social media, particularly on youth's mental health and on women. Join us for this session with MEPs, and share your experiences, concerns, and ideas for fostering a safer and more informed digital space.
