Following the success of the Paris Summit and the Estonia Declaration - Freedom on the Offensive, Renew Europe is proud to host a high-level forum in Brussels on 13 January 2026. This flagship event will bring together leading voices from across Europe to discuss how we can protect both our security and our democratic values in a rapidly changing world.

The Global Europe Forum will set the political tone for 2026, shaping Europe’s agenda on defence and democracy. Journalists, policymakers, and opinion leaders will gather to exchange ideas and chart concrete paths to ensure a stronger, freer Europe.

This panel will explore how Europe can strengthen its defence architecture, balancing national sovereignty and collective security. It will discuss deterrence strategies, cooperation within NATO and among European states, and what it takes for industry to build a credible European defence.
How can Europe move from resilience to renewal while ensuring our democracies emerge stronger & more trusted by citizens?
This panel will focus on how Europe can safeguard democratic resilience against disinformation, hybrid threats, and foreign interference. It will look at the implementation and possible strengthening of the EU regulatory framework, the experience of European frontline states, and the role of civil society in defending our democracies.
