Renew Plenary Priorities

Motions of censor - Renew Europe will not support the motions of censure to be debated in plenary session on Monday. Renew Europe believes that the only viable and stable pro-European political platform is one that brings together the EPP, S&D, and Renew. We are committed to a constructive approach with the European executive and consider it inappropriate to destabilize the Commission at this time. The Commission must be able to continue its work in accordance with the agreements and commitments made with Renew Europe.

Our priority remains ensuring political stability and advancing the pro-European agenda that our citizens expect from their institutions.

Debate : Monday 6 Sept, 17:00. Vote : Thursday 9 Sept. 12:00.

Renew MEP : Group President Valérie Hayer (Renaissance, France)

Violations of EU airspace - Renew Europe calls for concrete action to defend European skies. The EU must develop comprehensive defence capabilities against drones and strengthen its capacity to defend itself and deter threats. This includes reinforcing security in the Baltic Sea and along the entire Eastern frontline.

Renew Europe calls for the rapid development of a European Sky Shield Initiative to provide credible air and missile defence to all EU citizens, including Ukrainians. Unidentified flying objects must be taken down. Our security depends on our ability to protect our airspace effectively. The time for action is now.

Debate : Wednesday 8 Sept. 9:00. Vote : Thursday 9 Sept. 12:00.

Renew MEPs : Group President Valérie Hayer (Renaissance, France), Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann (FDP, Germany)

Peace efforts for Gaza - Renew Europe supports all peace initiatives aimed at ending the war and humanitarian tragedy in Gaza. In the resolution voted during the September plenary session, Renew Europe reiterated its key demands: an end to hostilities, access to humanitarian aid, the exclusion of terrorist groups including Hamas from any discussions on the future of Palestinians, and sanctions against far-right ministers. Our objective is to create the conditions necessary for negotiating a two-state solution, which remains the only viable path to lasting peace and security for both Israelis and Palestinians.

Debate : Tuesday 7 Sept. 13:00.

Renew MEPs : Bernard Guetta (France), Barry Andrews (Fianna Fáil, Ireland)
