Renew Europe is deeply concerned by ongoing reports surrounding historic alleged procurement fraud and misconduct involving former High Representative Federica Mogherini in connection with the European Diplomatic Academy.
We express our full trust in the current administration of the EEAS to cooperate fully and transparently with the competent authorities as the facts are established. The Belgian police and the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) have our full support. We also recognise and have full confidence in the strengthened anti-corruption and compliance measures that have since been introduced within the EEAS, which represent a necessary step to safeguard institutional integrity.
Renew Europe will continue to follow developments closely. European citizens must be able to rely on EU institutions that uphold the highest standards of ethics, accountability and public service. Full clarity and responsibility for actions taken under previous mandates are indispensable to maintain that trust.
