Reinforcing European competitiveness and resilience in uncertain times, and addressing the challenges of concern for citizens, Renew Europe is pleased to have been a key player shaping the EU Budget for 2026.
For us it was essential to restore essential funding, 523 million euros, in crucial sectors like research, sustainable innovation, health, and defence, and with that ensure the continued well-functioning of flagship programmes for citizens, such as Erasmus +, Horizon Europe, LIFE, the Civil protection Mechanism and financial support to Ukraine.
During of the upcoming conciliation procedure, we will continue our efforts to ensure that every euro of EU taxpayers’ money is allocated where it is most needed and that the budget is kept responsive and flexible, in the interest of our citizens.

"I am happy and proud of our important work being the bridge in the middle of the Parliament that has secured a broad compromise on the Budget26’.”
“In these uncertain times, when Europe faces mounting pressure from global competitors like the United States and China, as well as challenges from migration and war on our borders, it is vital that we stand united with a budget that strengthens Europe’s competitiveness and resilience through strong liberal prioritization of green energy, defence, health and sustainable innovation."Stine BosseRenew Europe MEP, Denmark, Moderaterne

"Thanks to Renew Europe’s active involvement, the 2026 budget ensures that EU institutions have the resources to deliver on their mandates. We have notably strengthened support for the EU Court of Justice — a key signal at a time when the rule of law is constantly under pressure. We have also enabled institutions to prioritise and upgrade their cybersecurity capacities".
